kids, they all grow up so fast
thanks to RUI-AN, who just commented that my new blog reminds him of my failed attempts to blog in sec 2.
it's hilarious now that i think of it. cos i used to blog in a weird manner: my posts on the blog had to be PERFECT. with all the nitty-gritty details that i couldnt miss out, and the smiley faces which i had to standardise. i ended up NOT posting them, and majority of them were saved as drafts. haha.
i tried all sorts of things to make my blog interesting, like add funny pictures that didnt make sense, and tried desperately to link what was in the pictures to what i was going to blog about in my sec 2 life. it was really bad now that i think of it. haha, but great experience though.
if it wasnt for ruian, i wouldnt have been exposed to blogging, heh. i still remember that he created my blogger acct for me, and the password was '
maoyang' (dont try, its not going to work now), then we changed it to '
maomaoyang'. totally retarded and wicked!
*sidenote: boo. rui an's very tall now. taller than i am. -.-
that was all in sec 2, and time really flies. we grow up so quickly, losing a lot along the way while we struggle to act and grow beyond our age.
just got home from a party at my uncle's place, where we celebrated the birthdays' of
4 of my cousins. i looked at them and thought to myself: WOW, they're x-year old now?
and its heartening and sad at the same time to know that they all grow up so fast. i miss the times when i was still carrying them in my arms. here's what my cousins are like now:
andy's in aussie studying now, completed his a's last year.
alex's in TP year 2 - business course.
deon's doing IB, graduating next year. (fyi, this is me)
diann's having her o's in oct. (my sis)
desmond is sec 4 now.
eugene is sec 2 - bukit panjang govn high and getting rounder each day. haha.
ming-ming is doing her PSLE in oct.
shin-ler's primary 3/4 (unsure, need to go check)
joshua's primary 2 now.
su'er is primary 1.
adele is 6 this year.
xin'er is 2 years old, and uberly cute.
12 in total. i love them all.
my friend was telling me not to grow up so fast, because its not right. but i realised i had no choice, it was either evolve or die, i had to learn how to handle school politics, i had to learn to stand on my own, i had to learn so many things that had taken most of my teenage years away.
how i long to be able to embrace the child-likeness i used to have, do the silly things like i did in sec 2, look forward to going to school and spending every weekend with the family.
kids, we all grow up too fast.
